"Inside Herself"

I'm never quite sure if this form is springing forth or disappearing. I'm sure she's free standing,

I'm sure she's both simple and complex. I enjoy the patterns, her fluid lines and find her to be changing before my eyes as she becomes herself.

  1. I think this piece is amazing, fascinating, and beautiful! what is the scale? how did you do that?
How did you come to think of making her?
    thanks for sharing.

  2. This piece is approx, 14" tall. She is woven from 100 feet of flattened 12 gauge copper wire.
This type of weave is the same technique used to braid whips and leather. She comes about by studying forms that go into themselves, ie. jellyfish. In this form the interior and exterior become confused. In a sense this young lady is full of herself. There are more forms in this series. Brad
